SUMMARY:Turner & Constable
DESCRIPTION:Sedona International Film Festival presents the Exhibition on Screen series with “Turner & Constable”. The film will premiere in Sedona on March 24 and 29 at the festival’s Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre. \nCelebrating the 250th anniversary of their births\, this unmissable new documentary explores Turner and Constable’s intertwined lives and legacies alongside the groundbreaking Tate exhibition. \nTwo of Britain’s greatest painters\, J.M.W. Turner and John Constable were also the greatest of rivals. Born within a year of each other\, both used landscape painting to reflect the changing world around them. Tate Britain is brought these two greats together for a groundbreaking exhibition\, in London from November 2025 to April 2026\, and Exhibition on Screen once again has exclusive and privileged access to bring their extraordinary art and remarkable stories to the big screen so that you can enjoy both film and exhibition together. \nDiscover unexpected sides to both artists with intimate views of sketchbooks and personal items and insights from leading experts. \nTurner’s blazing sunsets and sublime scenes from his travels and Constable’s idealized depictions of beloved places from home whipped the public of the time into a frenzy of enthusiasm. Constable represents the very best of the old school of realism and pastoral nostalgia; Turner\, an exciting new way of depicting emotion and dreamlike impressions. Critics compared their starkly different styles to a clash of ‘fire and water’. \nDon’t miss this opportunity to see these greats side-by-side\, as they so often were in life\, on the big screen for the first time. \nThe Exhibition on Screen Series is generously sponsored by Goldenstein Gallery. \n“Turner & Constable” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre on Tuesday and Sunday\, March 24 and 29 at 3:30 p.m. \nTickets are $15 general admission\, or $13 for Film Festival members. Tickets are available in advance at the Sedona International Film Festival office or by calling 928-282-1177 or online at the BUY TICKETS link on the right. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A\, in West Sedona.

SUMMARY:Cry Wolf: A Play with Magic
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to continue the 2026 season of its Sedona Professional Theatre Company with “Cry Wolf: A Play with Magic” live on stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre\, running March 27-29. \n“Cry Wolf: A Play with Magic” — written and performed by Rhett Guter — is directed by West Hyler. \n“Cry Wolf” blurs the line between illusion and reality\, transforming the theatre into a high-stakes game show where the prize is nothing less than truth itself. For 85 mesmerizing minutes\, performer Rhett Guter invites audiences to play along — searching for the hidden “wolf” among volunteer contestants — as jaw-dropping magic\, masterful tap dance\, and deeply personal storytelling unfold. \nInspired by the spectacle of The Price is Right and the theatrical artistry of Derren Brown\, this intimate one-man show asks profound questions about identity\, authenticity\, and the courage to be seen. “Cry Wolf” promises wonder\, laughter\, and revelation. \n \nRHETT GUTER\nRhett Guter (Writer/Performer) is a New York-based actor\, magician\, and choreographer who has spent nine seasons at Utah Shakespeare Festival and performed in touring productions of West Side Story and Annie. As a director and choreographer\, Guter’s work has been featured at Drury Lane Theatre\, Griffin Theatre\, Utah Shakespeare Festival\, and Encore Performing Arts. He received his training at Southern Utah University in Dance Performance and Musical Theatre and currently serves as Artistic Director for Encore Performing Arts. Cry Wolf represents his debut as a writer-performer\, uniquely combining his theatrical expertise with his passion for magic and personal storytelling. \nSeason sponsors are Renee and Doug Leuthold and Chuck Marr. \n“Cry Wolf: A Play with Magic” will take the stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Friday\, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday\, March 28 and 29 at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. \nFor tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177. SUMMARY:The Optimist: The Bravest Act is Truth
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “The Optimist: The Bravest Act is Truth” showing March 27-April 2 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon and Mary D. Fisher Theatres. \nBased on a remarkable true story\, “The Optimist: The Bravest Act is Truth” traces the life of Herbert Heller and the unlikely friendship that transforms both him and a young woman searching for her own sense of direction. \nAs a boy\, Herbert survived the Holocaust and carried the weight of an unspoken secret for six decades\, choosing silence as a way to move through the world. When he meets Abby\, a perceptive and intuitive teenager quietly grappling with her own emotional burdens\, something shifts. Abby’s curiosity\, compassion\, and steady presence begin to open a door Herbert long believed was sealed. \nAs Herbert slowly shares the truth of his past\, an unexpected bond takes root—one that bridges generations and reveals how connection can illuminate even the darkest corners of memory. Through each other\, they discover understanding\, healing\, and the courage to finally voice what has been held inside. \nStarring Stephen Lang (Avatar) as Herbert\, Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade) as Abby\, and Luke David Blumm (Where the Crawdads Sing) as young Herbert\, “The Optimist: The Bravest Act is Truth” is a profoundly moving film about resilience\, remembrance\, and the life-changing impact of being truly heard. It is a testament to the power of storytelling — and to the hope found in human connection. \n“The Optimist: The Bravest Act is Truth” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon and Mary D. Fisher Theatres March 27-April 2. Showtimes will be Friday and Saturday\, March 27 and 28 at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday and Monday\, March 29 and 30 at 7:00 p.m.; and Tuesday\, Wednesday and Thursday\, March 31\, April 1 and 2 at 4:00 p.m. \nTickets are $12\, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A\, in West Sedona.

SUMMARY:A Magnificent Life
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “A Magnificent Life” showing March 27-April 2 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon and Mary D. Fisher Theatres. \nIn 1955\, 60-year-old Marcel Pagnol is a well-known and acclaimed playwright and filmmaker. When the editor-in-chief of ELLE magazine commissions a weekly column about Pagnol’s childhood\, he sees this as a great opportunity to go back to his artistic roots: writing. \nRealizing his memory is failing him and deeply affected by the disappointing results of his last two plays\, Pagnol starts doubting his ability to pursue his work. That is until Little Marcel — the young boy he used to be — appears to him as if by magic. \nTogether\, they will explore Marcel Pagnol’s incredible life and bring back to life his most cherished encounters and memories. His memories resurface as the words flow: the arrival of talkies\, the first major film studio\, his attachment to actors\, the experience of writing. \nThe greatest storyteller of all time becomes the hero of his own story. \n“A Magnificent Life” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon and Mary D. Fisher Theatres March 27-April 2. Showtimes will be Friday and Saturday\, March 27 and 28 at 3:30 p.m.; Sunday\, March 29 at 6:30 p.m.; Monday\, March 30 at 4:00 p.m.; and Tuesday and Thursday\, March 31 and April 2 at 7:00 p.m. \nTickets are $12\, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A\, in West Sedona.
