SUMMARY:Horseshoe
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Horseshoe” showing May 8-13 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. \nFour siblings. One will. With any luck\, they won’t kill each other. \nAll families are mad … not least the Canavans. “Horseshoe” is a dramatic comedy with a twist set in the wild West of Ireland. \nWhen Colm\, the head of the family\, dies\, there are few who mourn his passing\, not even his four estranged adult children. But the legalities of his will must be observed and more than one Canavan sibling is harboring secrets. \nAs the Canavans return to the family home\, the fate of the family unit\, their sanity and the Canavan estate all hang in the balance. \n“Horseshoe” blends razor-sharp dialogue with raw emotional depth\, with a cast that delivers powerful performances\, including Carolyn Bracken\, Lalor Roddy\, John Connors\, Mary Murray\, Jed Murray\, Neill Fleming\, Eric O’Brien and Caroline Harvey. \n“Horseshoe” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre May 8-13. Showtimes will be Friday\, May 8 at 3:00 p.m.; Sunday and Wednesday\, May 10 and 13 at 4:00 p.m.; and Monday and Tuesday\, May 11 and 12 at 7:00 p.m. \nTickets are $12\, or $9 for Film Festival members. SUMMARY:Two Pianos
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Two Pianos” showing May 8-14 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre. \nAfter years of self-imposed exile\, pianist Mathias (François Civil) returns to France\, where his former mentor\, Eléna (Charlotte Rampling)\, has invited him to perform a series of concerts with her in his hometown of Lyon. Once a rising star of the French musical scene and Eléna’s prized pupil\, Mathias has spent many years teaching and performing in Japan. \nSoon after his arrival\, a chance encounter with a child who looks just like him throws Mathias into turmoil\, threatening to drag him down\, and leads him back to his first love\, Claude (Nadia Tereszkiewicz). \nFrench master Arnaud Desplechin returns to some of his favorite themes – psychologically charged homecomings and unexpected reunions (romantic and otherwise) – in this sensual\, Hitchcockian melodrama featuring one of Rampling’s most delicious roles in years. \n“A rhapsodic piece about love\, death\, music and memory.” — Jonathan Romney\, Screen International \n“An ideal example of what a prestige film should be. Charlotte Rampling delivers her best performance in years.” — C.J. Prince\, The Film Stage \n“Two Pianos” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre May 8-14. SUMMARY:Doors of Deception with Paul Vigil
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present “Doors of Deception with Paul Vigil” on Friday\, May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. \nMagician Paul Vigil comes direct from his full-time home in Las Vegas\, where for many years he performed a highly acclaimed one-man magic show at the Mirage Resort. Paul has appeared regularly on TV\, including Penn & Teller Fool Us\, performances at every major Las Vegas casino\, full house shows at the famous Hollywood Magic Castle\, corporate events for fortune 500 CEOs\, and private performances for Nobel Laureates. \nPaul’s specialty is crafting incredibly fooling magic that is not only unique but regularly fools fellow performers. Paul now travels the globe performing his passionately powerful style of magic and mentalism\, leaving audiences in a state of complete disbelief. \n \nPenn & Teller refer to Paul Vigil as one of the most diabolical performers in the world of magic. Some call him a magician; some call him a mind reader and perhaps even a kind of psychic. In the end Paul Vigil will fool you deeply with his unique magic\, high energy\, fun show and offbeat personality. \nWith a run time of 65 minutes Paul takes audiences on a journey through the classics of magic (all with his own insanely fooling twists) to the presentation of his most clever personal creations – building to an eye-popping finale that has to be seen to be believed! \n \nPaul’s background is as diverse as his magic\, starting with attending Utah State University where he received a “Botanical Preservation Corp” scholarship. That in turn led him to study the science of ethno-pharmacology and magic used throughout history. Paul now combines this knowledge into the heart & soul of his incredibly theatrical performances. Paul’s mind for magic was heavily influenced by his dear friend and protégé of nearly two decades\, the late Johnny Thompson — widely considered (including by Penn & Teller) as one of the greatest magicians of all time. \nPaul has travelled the world studying Shamanic medicines\, with knowledge that he incorporates into his performances. Paul strongly believes that magic & mysticism can have a consciousness enhancing effect on humans\, and his mind-altering show taps into both the real and surreal. He seeks those crazy moments in his show that transcend – so that audiences deeply feel genuine mystery – where even the smartest people attending his show might begin to doubt what they have experienced. \nPaul is excited to bring his mind-altering astonishment to sophisticated audiences for a one night only event in Sedona! \nJoin us for “Doors of Deception with Paul Vigil” on Friday\, May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. Tickets are $40 general admission and $50 for VIP seating (first three rows and includes a complimentary glass of a Merlot or Sauvignon Blanc wine (21 and over) or a soda/water upon arrival. \nClick on the BUY TICKETS link to the right to order tickets online\, or call 928-282-1177 to order by phone.
