SUMMARY:Texas Music Revolution
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Texas Music Revolution” showing May 15-21 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre. \nGet ready for a toe-tapping\, edge of your seat\, behind the scenes look at the 25th anniversary of one of the most treasured\, Americana/Folk/Country music festivals — Texas Music Revolution — based in McKinney\, TX. \n“Texas Music Revolution” — featuring Kiefer Sutherland\, Charley Crockett & Ray Wylie Hubbard — follows the journey of indie radio station KHYI-FM GM and music festival founder Joshua Jones as he produces the silver anniversary of this iconic event. \n \nAs much a document of reintroducing live music in the wake of a pandemic\, it is a celebration of Texas and its roots — where\, at the crossroads of purist country and Americana has evolved the iconic ‘red dirt’ Waylon-and-Willie style considered one of three pillars of American country music. \nFor more than a quarter of a century\, KHYI-FM’s commitment to radio independence has given voice to this unique sector of the country western genre. TMR has subsequently emerged as an iconic live showcase and grown into one of the largest independent music festivals in the USA. In a volatile era where larger festivals have shuttered\, Joshua and KHYI must double down to produce their grandest event yet. \n“Texas Music Revolution” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre May 15-21. Showtimes will be Friday\, Saturday and Tuesday\, May 15\, 16 and 19 at 6:30 p.m.; and Sunday\, Monday and Thursday\, May 17\, 18 and 21 at 3:30 p.m. \nTickets are $12\, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A\, in West Sedona.

SUMMARY:The Christophers
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “The Christophers” showing May 15-21 at the Mary D. Fisher and Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatres. \nJulian Sklar (Ian McKellen) was once a star of London’s 1960’s and 70’s pop art explosion\, but he hasn’t painted in decades and has been broke for years. \nHis two estranged children (James Corden\, Jessica Gunning)\, desperate for an inheritance\, hire Lori\, an art restorer and former forger (Michaela Coel)\, to pose as a prospective assistant in order to access 8 unfinished canvases Julian has buried deep in storage. \nHer plan is to complete them\, then return them to storage\, where they are to be “discovered” upon Julian’s death. \n“A sparkling\, funny\, wise movie. I have rarely enjoyed watching two actors’ rapport the way I loved watching McKellen and Coel.” — Alissa Wilkinson\, New York Times \n“One of the best films of the year. Extraordinary. The kind of movie only a master filmmaker could have made.” — Stephanie Zacharek\, Time \n“Two of the best performances you’ll see all year.” — David Fear\, Rolling Stone \n“The Christophers” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher and Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatres May 15-21. Showtimes will be Friday\, Saturday\, Monday and Thursday\, May 15\, 16\, 18 and 21 at 3:00 p.m.; Sunday and Tuesday\, May 17 and 19 at 7:00 p.m.; and Wednesday\, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. \nTickets are $12\, or $9 for Film Festival members. SUMMARY:In the Living Room Music Series: Abigail Earthshine Fisher
DESCRIPTION:The “In the Living Room Music Series” continues its eclectic season at the Sedona International Film Festival’s Mary D. Fisher Theatre with an evening of profound vocal power and spiritual resonance. Monday\, May 18 at 7:00 p.m.\, series creator\, award-winning songwriter\, Shondra Jepperson hosts Abigail Earthshine Fisher\, acclaimed opera singer who has graced the world’s most iconic stages and who is also a catalyst for transformational healing. \nAbigail’s musical pedigree is extraordinary. Trained as a classical singer and cellist in a family of performers\, her career includes appearances with the Los Angeles Opera\, Cincinnati Opera\, and the Beijing Music Festival\, with performances at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. She has been a muse for modern composers\, premiering works like Missy Mazzoli’s Song from the Uproar and starring in the 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning opera Angel’s Bone. \nNow based in Sedona\, Abigail has bridged her classical mastery with her work as a traumainformed breathwork facilitator and shamanic sound healer. This “unplugged” session will offer a rare look at how her experience in the highest echelons of innovative art has shaped her current mission of guiding others toward “True Voice Emergence.” \n“Abigail is a force of nature\,” says moderator Shondra Jepperson. “She’s a classical vocal powerhouse and musician in Sedona whose mission is to help others as a sound healer. This evening will be about more than just a beautiful voice and a musician; it will be about the power of self-expression and the courage to evolve as an artist.” \nExecutive Director Patrick Schweiss added: “The continuation of this series is partly because the audience is having a relaxed living room experience with dynamic talent that Shondra is bringing to our stage\, like Abigail. Our audiences are having so much fun with the informal tone of this series\, where they interact by asking questions during the concert.” \nThe “In the Living Room Music Series” is made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsor Cleaner Quicker Car Wash\, alongside concert sponsors Sefton Engineering\, LaserGirl Skincare\, and new national sponsor MoonBrew. This collaborative support ensures that 100% of the ticket sales go directly to the performing artists and the Sedona International Film Festival. \nIn the Living Room Music Series featuring Sandrine Abigail Earthshine Fischer will take the stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Monday\, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. \nTickets are $20 and are available in advance at the Sedona International Film Festival office or by calling 928-282-1177 or online at the BUY TICKETS link to the right. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A\, in West Sedona.
