DESCRIPTION:It’s “Big Screen at Basecamp” as the Sedona International Film Festival partners with Sedona Beer Company for its “Movies on the Move” cinema under the stars outdoor film experience at Basecamp in West Sedona — every Thursday in the summer season! \nJoin us on Thursday\, July 2 as we present “Stand By Me” at Basecamp/Sedona Beer Company at dusk. \n“Stand by Me” is a classic coming-of-age film directed by Rob Reiner and adapted from Stephen King’s novella\, The Body. In 1959 Oregon\, four twelve-year-old boys — Gordie\, Chris\, Teddy\, and Vern — embark on a two-day trek into the woods to find the dead body of a missing local boy\, hoping to become local heroes. On the way\, they learn more about one another and their very different home lives. Just a lark at first\, the boys’ adventure evolves into a defining event in their lives. \n“Stand By Me” stars Wil Wheaton\, Jerry O’Connell\, River Phoenix\, and Corey Feldman. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. \nBasecamp will offer a selection of craft beers\, food and beverages (and a special menu item themed to each film)\, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Sedona International Film Festival. \n \n“Stand By Me” will be shown outdoors at Basecamp Sedona Beer Company (70 Dry Creek Road) on Thursday\, July 2 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs. Parking is free and available at Basecamp and the Sedona Public Library. \nTickets are only $10 each\, and kids 12 and under are free of charge. \nFor advance tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177.
