DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “The Art of Adventure” showing Aug. 21-26 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. \nIn 1957\, world renowned wildlife artist Robert Bateman and spirited biologist Bristol Foster embarked on a global expedition in a Land Rover they called “The Grizzly Torque” — a journey that ignited a deep love of our planet and set in motion a powerful story of environmental activism through art and science. \n“The Art of Adventure” is an inspiring and deeply human documentary about the extraordinary lifelong friendship between world renowned wildlife artist Robert Bateman and fearless biologist Bristol Foster. Through their epic 1957 journey around the world — armed with a 16mm camera and an artist’s brush — the film opens a vivid window onto a planet once wild and unscarred and a bond formed through curiosity\, courage and love of nature. \nAt its heart the film weaves together nature\, art and activism showing how two very different men fought to protect the natural world: one thought art\, the other through science. Now in their 90’s Bob and Bristol still find sanctuary in nature. Their story is a moving reflection on legacy\, mortality and the wisdom of our elders — and a reminder that humanity and nature are inseparable.  \n“The Art of Adventure” invites us to listen\, to learn and to embrace life with curiosity\, courage and heart. \n“The Art of Adventure” will be shown at the Mary D. It is an homage to the movies and to the art of costume design. \nA film director calls all his favorite actresses to film a movie set in Rome in the 70s that tells the vicissitudes revolving around a prestigious tailoring. He wants to make a film about women but he doesn’t reveal much: he observes them\, takes cue.  \nHe throws them into another era\, in a past where the noise of the sewing machines fills a workplace handled and populated by women\, where men have minor and marginal roles and cinema can be told from another point of view: the one of costume.  \nBetween loneliness\, passions\, anxieties\, heartbreaking absence and unbreakable bonds\, reality and fiction permeate\, as well as the lives of the actresses and those of the characters\, the competition and the sisterhood\, the visible and the invisible. \n“Diamonds” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre Aug. 21-27. Join us on Wednesday\, Aug. 26 as we present “10 Things I Hate About You” in The Grove Fire Pit Garden at The Wilde Resort and Spa. \nThere are so many different ways to hate. Count them yourself. In “10 Things I Hate About You”\, new student Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) wants to date Bianca (Larisa Oleynik)\, but her strict dad forbids it unless her abrasive\, boy-repellent sister Kat (Julia Stiles) dates too. Cameron bribes “bad boy” Patrick (Heath Ledger) to date Kat so he can date Bianca. \nBring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from The Wilde Resort and fun movie concessions. \n \n“10 Things I Hate About You” will be shown outdoors at The Wilde Resort and Spa (2250 W.
