DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Never Stop Chasing” showing Aug. 28-Sept. 2 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre. \nStorm chaser Reed Timmer and his crew pursue the world’s most powerful tornadoes\, confronting danger\, friendship\, and the personal cost of a life driven by the relentless pursuit of storms in the immersive documentary “Never Stop Chasing”. \nReed Timmer pursues a life hunting the world’s most violent weather. Haunted by the tragic death of his mentor\, Tim Samaras\, in the historic 2013 El Reno tornado\, and the sudden loss of his best friend and long-time chase partner\, Joel Taylor\, Reed’s life on the edge takes a severe emotional toll. Driven by an unshakeable compulsion\, he pushes his mind and body to the absolute limit in pursuit of the perfect storm. \nOperating the custom-built\, armored “Dominator 3\,” Reed and his eclectic crew—Connor\, Mike\, Edgar\, and “Local Man”—plunge directly into the impact zones of apocalyptic supercells. Despite holding a Ph.D. in meteorology\, Reed’s highly aggressive intercept tactics constantly put him at odds with a traditional scientific establishment that frequently dismisses his controversial approach. The film captures the duality of their extreme lifestyle: the euphoric highs of intercepting a tornado alongside an embedded New York Times reporter\, and the terrifying lows of being overtaken by a massive wedge tornado inside their vehicle. \nWhen the Dominator suffers a catastrophic engine failure\, the team is forced to continue their pursuit in a vulnerable rental car. This fateful decision places them directly in the path of the devastating 2024 Greenfield tornado. Confronting the horrific human toll left in the storm’s wake\, Reed and his team must reconcile the adrenaline of the chase with the profound destruction they witness. Ultimately\, the renegade crew captures unprecedented visual data that forces the meteorological establishment to finally validate Reed’s methods\, cementing a historic breakthrough in tornado science. \n“Never Stop Chasing” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre Aug. 28-Sept. 2. Ángela’s deafness raises concerns during her pregnancy regarding connecting with her daughter. Post-delivery\, Héctor supports her as she learns to mother in a society lacking adequate accommodations for the hearing-impaired.  \nÁngela faces the challenges of raising her daughter in a world not made for her. \n“Deaf” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre Aug. 28-Sept. 3. SUMMARY:Outdoor Film: The Sting
DESCRIPTION:Outdoor films are coming to the Village! The Sedona International Film Festival is partnering with Village of Oak Creek Association to present its “Movies on the Move” outdoor film experience on Mondays throughout the summer. \nJoin us on Monday\, Aug. 31 when we present “The Sting” outdoors at the Village of Oak Creek Association Park\, next to the clubhouse.  \n“The Sting” (1973) — an iconic 1930s-era caper film — was nominated for 10 Academy Awards\, winning seven Oscars\, including Best Picture. Following the murder of a mutual friend\, aspiring con man Johnny Hooker (Robert Redford) teams up with old pro Henry Gondorff (Paul Newman) to take revenge on the ruthless crime boss responsible\, Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw). Hooker and Gondorff set about implementing an elaborate scheme\, one so crafty that Lonnegan won’t even know he’s been swindled. As their big con unfolds\, however\, things don’t go according to plan\, requiring some last-minute improvisation by the undaunted duo. \nBring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from the festival’s “Movies on the Move” mobile concession stand.  \n“The Sting” will be shown outdoors at the VOC Association Park (690 Bell Rock Boulevard in the Village of Oak Creek) on Monday\, Aug. 31 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7:00 p.m. Parking is free and available onsite. \nTickets are only $10 each\, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.  \nFor advance tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177.
