SUMMARY:Late Fame
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Late Fame” showing Oct. 2-8 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre. \nThe great Willem Dafoe lends his delicate gravitas to the role of Ed Saxberger\, a forgotten New York poet who works in the post office. After an eager and flattering young admirer (Edmund Donovan) appears on his doorstep\, Saxberger is beckoned into a coterie of twenty-something admirers who anoint him as a rediscovered genius. \nIntoxicated by the attention — and by the alluring presence of Gloria\, the group’s “tragic heroine” (a sinuous\, Kurt Weill–crooning Greta Lee) — Saxberger gradually reckons with the authenticity of his newfound poetic circle. \nThis thoughtful\, witty second feature from Kent Jones — working from a sly and hugely entertaining script by Oscar nominated screenwriter Samy Burch — is a wistful yet unromantic look at a lost idea of downtown New York. \n“Willem Dafoe gives a performance so natural it barely looks like acting at all.” — Xan Brooks\, The Guardian \n“The movie abounds in exquisite grace notes. Willem Defoe is magnificent.” — Sheri Linden\, The Hollywood Reporter \n“Greta Lee is mesmerizing.” — Owen Gleiberman\, Variety \n“Late Fame” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre Oct. 2-8. Showtimes will be Friday\, Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m.; Saturday\, Oct. 3 at 1:00 p.m.; Sunday\, Monday and Tuesday\, Oct. 4\, 5 and 6 at 6:30 p.m.; and Wednesday and Thursday\, Oct. 7 and 8 at 3:30 p.m. \nTickets are $12\, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A\, in West Sedona.

SUMMARY:Tony
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Tony” showing Oct. 2-8 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon and Mary D. Fisher Theatres. \n“Tony” stars Dominic Sessa (in the title role of Anthony Bourdain)\, Emilia Jones\, Leo Woodall and Antonio Banderas. \nIn this origin story of a voice that defined a generation\, a 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain travels to Provincetown and stumbles into the chaotic world of a restaurant kitchen\, setting off a summer that will shape the course of his life. \nExploring how the iconic Anthony Bourdain came to be with a scrappy coming-of-age story that’s equal parts sweet and tart\, “Tony” is a splendid tribute to mentorship\, complete with a standout performance by Antonio Banderas. \n“Tony” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon and Mary D. Fisher Theatres Oct. 2-8. Showtimes will be Friday\, Oct. 2 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday\, Monday and Tuesday\, Oct. 3\, 5 and 6 at 3:30 p.m.; Sunday\, Oct. 4 at 12:30 p.m.; and Wednesday and Thursday\, Oct. 7 and 8 at 6:30 p.m. \nTickets are $12\, or $9 for Film Festival members. SUMMARY:Met Live Opera: Così fan tutte
DESCRIPTION:The Mary D. Fisher Theatre is honored to be the home for the Met Live Opera programs for the 2026-2027 season\, presented by the Sedona International Film Festival. \nThe season will officially kick off with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” live via simulcast on Saturday\, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. and the encore presentation on Wednesday\, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. \nPlan to come early as Ed Ingraham will lead a pre-opera talk one hour before the LIVE production on Saturday. \nThe Met: Live in HD season opens with Mozart’s satirical comedy of fickle young love “Così fan tutte”. Phelim McDermott’s “colorful\, inventive” (The New York Times) staging\, inspired by Coney Island in the 1950s\, sets the uproarious story at a boardwalk amusement park\, where the two pairs of lovers at the heart of the tale find themselves on one emotional — and literal — thrill ride after another. Soprano Federica Lombardi and mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey sing Fiordiligi and Dorabella\, opposite tenor Duke Kim and baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky as Ferrando and Guglielmo. Bass-baritone Gerald Finley reprises his portrayal of the cynical Don Alfonso\, with soprano Ana María Martínez as the witty maid Despina. \nOverflowing with gorgeous melody\, Mozart’s witty romantic comedy follows two sailors who switch places to test their fiancées’ faithfulness\, with hilarious results. Hailed as “colorful\, inventive” by The New York Times\, Phelim McDermott’s production updates the setting to an amusement park inspired by Coney Island in the 1950s\, featuring sword swallowers\, fire breathers\, contortionists\, and more. \nThe 2026-2027 Met Live Opera season in Sedona is generously sponsored by Chris Fladlien. \nThe Met Live Opera’s “Così fan tutte” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Saturday\, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. (live simulcast) with an encore on Wednesday\, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. The pre-opera talk will take place one hour before the live Saturday simulcast. \nTickets are $28 general admission\, $25 for Film Festival members\, and $18 for students. Tickets are available in advance at the Sedona International Film Festival office or by calling 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A\, in West Sedona.

SUMMARY:Cottonwood Premiere: Peter Asher: Everywhere Man
DESCRIPTION:The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present “Monday Movies on Main” on Monday\, Oct. 5 with the Cottonwood premiere of “Peter Asher: Everywhere Man” at 7 p.m. at Old Town Center for the Arts. \n“Peter Asher: Everywhere Man” is a feature-length documentary inspired by musician\, producer\, and manager Peter Asher’s celebrated cabaret show A Musical Memoir of the ’60s and Beyond. Like his stage performance\, the film traces an extraordinary life lived at the center of modern music history. \nFrom his early years as a child actor in 1950s London to the Swinging Sixties\, Asher emerges as a Zelig-like figure in the culture of the era: one half of the pop duo “Peter and Gordon\,” recipients of four chart-topping hits penned by Paul McCartney; the first head of A&R at Apple Records; and co-owner of the Indica Gallery\, the epicenter of London’s countercultural art scene. \nAsher helped define a generation of singer-songwriters as producer and manager for James Taylor\, Linda Ronstadt\, and others\, cementing his reputation as one of music’s most influential behind-the-scenes forces of the 1970s and ‘80s. In the present day\, he remains a vital creative force\, still performing\, producing\, and most recently collaborating with Barbra Streisand on her acclaimed The Secret of Life duets album. \nFeaturing intimate interviews with James Taylor\, Linda Ronstadt\, Carole King\, Kate Taylor\, Lyle Lovett\, Natalie Merchant\, Marianne Faithfull\, Paul Jones\, Danny Kortchmar\, Waddy Wachtell\, Lee Sklar\, John Boylan\, Paul Shaffer\, and Paul McCartney (in voiceover) as well as cultural icons Steve Martin\, Eric Idle\, Twiggy\, and Pattie Boyd. Everywhere Man paints a vibrant portrait of a man whose life intersects with some of the greatest artists and moments of the last six decades. The soundtrack — woven from the timeless hits of those featured — creates a score as unforgettable as the story itself. \n“Peter Asher: Everywhere Man” will show at Old Town Center for the Arts on Monday\, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission and $9 for Film Festival members and $10 for students. Movie concessions will be available\, including beer\, wine\, soft drinks\, water\, popcorn and a selection of movie candy. \nFor tickets and more information\, please call 928-282-1177. Tickets can also be ordered in advance online at the BUY TICKETS link to the right. \nOld Town Center for the Arts is located at 633 N. 5th Street (just off Main) in Cottonwood.
