SUMMARY:The Storytellers Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Storytellers return to the Mary D. Fisher Theatre for two days of rootsy\, bluegrassy musical storytelling on Saturday and Sunday\, January 9 and 10\, presented by the Sedona International Film Festival. \nSedona knows this band. Their headlining concert at the Posse Grounds Pavilion drew raves\, they followed it with two shows at the Mary D. Fisher Theater\, and a packed 750 seats of the Sedona Performing Arts Center to close out our festival’s 31st year. \nBeyond Sedona\, they’ve played the Huck Finn Jubilee\, Calico Bluegrass Festival\, Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival\, and Desert Bluegrass Festival. They headlined the Prescott Bluegrass Festival and shared a stage with bluegrass legend Peter Rowan at Brookdale. A year-long residency at Treasure Island Casino & Resort in Las Vegas ran 25 shows\, and they recently performed for thousands at Dodger Stadium. \nTheir repertoire draws on traditional bluegrass\, country blues\, old-time\, and folk — not as a museum piece\, but as a launching point for inspired improvisation and fearless vocal harmony. What carries it is chemistry: soulful harmonies\, delicate acoustic touch\, soaring grooves\, tight rhythms\, real storytelling\, and a hippie-bluegrass warmth they bring to every stage. \n“This outfit is as steeped in values of the past as they are keen on keeping things fresh for today’s listening ear. They get all the wheels turning and pistons firing\, whether they be intellectual or emotional.” — The Bluegrass Standard \n“The Storytellers successfully bridge the gap between the traditional bluegrass and jamgrass worlds.” — Bluegrass Today \nDon’t miss one of Southern California’s most creative acts! \nThe Storytellers take the stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Saturday\, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday\, Jan. 10 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. \nAll tickets include a meet-and-greet with the band in the lobby after the show. \nClick on the BUY TICKETS link to the right to order tickets online\, or call 928-282-1177 to order by phone. The Sedona International Film Festival Office and the Mary D. Fisher Theatre are located at 2030 W. SR 89A in West Sedona.
