Outdoor Film:
Prince: Sign ‘o’ the Times
Sedona Film Festival presents ‘Prince: Sign ‘o’ the Times’ outdoors under the stars Sept. 11
Festival partners with The Wilde Resort & Spa for “Wilde Wednesdays” outdoor films
The Sedona International Film Festival is taking its show on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at The Wilde Resort and Spa for “Wilde Wednesdays” — an outdoor under-the-stars movie experience with “Movies on the Move”.
“Prince: Sign ‘o’ the Times” will be screened in The Grove Fire Pit Garden at The Wilde Resort and Spa.
Music legend Prince and his band perform 13 numbers — most of them from his double album, “Sign ‘o’ the Times” — in front of a crowd at the Rotterdam Music Hall. This is high-energy stuff: neon signs flash above the stage, suggesting the honky-tonk district of a big city, and between numbers there are vignettes of street life. Sheila E., Boni Boyer and Cat provide rhythmic, vocal and physical pyrotechnics while Sheena Easton appears in a film within a film, her rock video “U Got the Look.” In constant motion, never far from center stage, is Prince, Minnesota’s charismatic virtuoso, giving the performance of a lifetime.
For Prince fans, this outdoor concert film experience will be sheer musical bliss!
Bring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from Chef Mercer Mohr and his modern diner restaurant, Rascal. If your sweet tooth catches you, enjoy S’mores around one of the four firepits. The festival’s mobile concession stand will have movie treats available.
The Wilde Resort and Spa is also offering local “Stay-cation” getaway packages with special room rates that include a room overlooking the garden and film, tickets to see the film, welcome amenities (red wine and a smores kit) and waived resort fee, plus early check-in and late check-out. Mention booking code “D-WWED” when making the reservation.
“Prince: Sign ‘o’ the Times” will be shown outdoors at The Wilde Resort and Spa (2250 W. State Route 89A in West Sedona) on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs. Parking is free and available at The Wilde Resort and Spa.
