Met Live Opera: Così fan tutte

The Mary D. Fisher Theatre is honored to be the home for the Met Live Opera programs for the 2026-2027 season, presented by the Sedona International Film Festival.

The season will officially kick off with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” live via simulcast on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. and the encore presentation on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.

Plan to come early as Ed Ingraham will lead a pre-opera talk one hour before the LIVE production on Saturday.

The Met: Live in HD season opens with Mozart’s satirical comedy of fickle young love “Così fan tutte”. Phelim McDermott’s “colorful, inventive” (The New York Times) staging, inspired by Coney Island in the 1950s, sets the uproarious story at a boardwalk amusement park, where the two pairs of lovers at the heart of the tale find themselves on one emotional — and literal — thrill ride after another. Soprano Federica Lombardi and mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey sing Fiordiligi and Dorabella, opposite tenor Duke Kim and baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky as Ferrando and Guglielmo. Bass-baritone Gerald Finley reprises his portrayal of the cynical Don Alfonso, with soprano Ana María Martínez as the witty maid Despina.

Overflowing with gorgeous melody, Mozart’s witty romantic comedy follows two sailors who switch places to test their fiancées’ faithfulness, with hilarious results. Hailed as “colorful, inventive” by The New York Times, Phelim McDermott’s production updates the setting to an amusement park inspired by Coney Island in the 1950s, featuring sword swallowers, fire breathers, contortionists, and more.
