Outdoor Film: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
It’s “Big Screen at Basecamp” as the Sedona International Film Festival partners with Sedona Beer Company for its “Movies on the Move” cinema under the stars outdoor film experience at Basecamp in West Sedona — every Thursday in the summer season!
Join us on Thursday, Sept. 10 as we present “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” at Basecamp/Sedona Beer Company at dusk.
“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” is a 1988 comedy about two competing con artists starring Michael Caine, Steve Martin, and Glenne Headly. Con artist Lawrence Jamieson (Caine) is a longtime resident of a luxurious coastal resort, where he enjoys the fruits of his deceptions — that is, until a competitor, Freddy Benson (Martin), shows up. When the new guy’s lowbrow tactics impinge on his own work, Jamieson resolves to get rid of him. Confident of his own duplicitous talents, Jamieson challenges Benson to a winner-takes-all competition: whoever swindles an American heiress (Headly) first can stay, while the other must leave town.
Basecamp will offer a selection of craft beers, food and beverages (and a special menu item themed to each film), with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Sedona International Film Festival.
“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” will be shown outdoors at Basecamp Sedona Beer Company (70 Dry Creek Road) on Thursday, Sept. 10 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs. Parking is free and available at Basecamp and the Sedona Public Library.
Tickets are only $10 each, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.
