Outdoor Film: Ghost

Outdoor films are coming to the Village! The Sedona International Film Festival is partnering with Village of Oak Creek Association to present its “Movies on the Move” outdoor film experience on Mondays throughout the summer.

Join us on Monday, Sept. 21 when we present “Ghost” outdoors at the Village of Oak Creek Association Park, next to the clubhouse.

“Ghost” (1990) is a romantic fantasy thriller about a murdered banker whose spirit tries to save his girlfriend with help from a reluctant psychic. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards (including Best Picture). It won two Oscars: Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress (Whoopi Goldberg).

Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) is a banker, Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) is an artist, and the two are madly in love. However, when Sam is murdered by friend and corrupt business partner Carl Bruner (Tony Goldwyn) over a shady business deal, he is left to roam the earth as a powerless spirit. When he learns of Carl’s betrayal, Sam must seek the help of psychic Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg) to set things right and protect Molly from Carl and his goons.

Bring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from the festival’s “Movies on the Move” mobile concession stand.

“Ghost” will be shown outdoors at the VOC Association Park (690 Bell Rock Boulevard in the Village of Oak Creek) on Monday, Sept. 21 at dusk. Seating will begin at 6:00 p.m. Parking is free and available onsite.

Tickets are only $10 each, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.
