Resilience: A Lifetime of Art
The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present FREE screenings of “Resilience: A Lifetime of Art” — a documentary celebrating the work of legendary artist Curt Walters — on Friday, Oct. 2 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre.
These special screenings are part of the First Friday Art Gallery Event and the special exhibit of Curt Walters’ work presented by the Fine Art Museum of Sedona.
Take an emotional and visual journey with Curt Walters through five decades of paint, passion, and resilience.
The documentary “Resilience: A Lifetime of Art” is a companion to the award-winning book “Resilience: The Life and Grand Canyon Art of Curt Walters.” The film features selected passages from the book, read by the author Curt’s grandson dDamian Foreman, to present an emotional look into the philosophy and personal triumphs of a true master of American art. The words will come to life through video and photography that capture and illuminate Walters in the very moments mentioned.
Curt Walters is internationally known as America’s foremost Grand Canyon painter. From his earliest roots in New Mexico, to painting remote landscapes across the globe, witness how every trail, canvas, and personal obstacle led him back to his beloved Grand Canyon while experiencing the great range of Walters’ subjects, styles, and artistic growth.
“Resilience: A Lifetime of Art” will be shown at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre on Friday, Oct. 2 at 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. All tickets are FREE of charge.
