“The Lady With All the Answers” — by David Rambo — is drawn from the life and letters of Ann Landers with the cooperation of Margo Howard.

“Dear Ann Landers” … For decades, renowned advice columnist Ann Landers answered countless letters from lovelorn teens, confused couples and a multitude of others in need of advice. No topic was off-limits, including nude housekeeping, sex in a motorcycle helmet, the proper way to hang toilet paper, sibling rivalries, addiction, religion and wandering spouses. Landers regaled her readers with direct, insightful, and often humorously-honest responses.

Late on a 1975 night in Landers’ Chicago apartment, an ironic twist of events confronts her with a looming deadline for a column dealing with a new kind of heartbreak: her own. As she shares her struggle to complete the column with us, we learn as much about ourselves as we do about the wise, funny, no-nonsense woman whose daily dialogue with America helped shape the social and sexual landscapes of the last half-century.

Stage actress Katy Ryan is thrilled to perform her favorite play, “The Lady With All the Answers” on the Mary D. Fisher Theatre stage and for the opportunity to share the story of the amazing Ann Landers with audiences.

Having performed this one-woman play many times in California at different venues, she looks forward to its reprisal in her new state of residence, Arizona. Katy has enjoyed stage acting in 31 productions since 2002, cast as leading, supporting and ensemble roles for comedic and dramatic plays, and many musicals. In addition to acting, she has also provided choreography and costuming for several productions.

With original direction by Dennis Ashley in 2012, Katy now self-directs “The Lady With All the Answers” and finds much joy in developing new ways to portray this incredible woman (AKA Eppie Lederer)! She is appreciative of her husband of 44 years, Ted Ryan, who provides set-design/construction, tech assist and countless hours of helping with rehearsals for “The Lady…” and many other productions (he also acts)!

“The Lady With All the Answers” will take the stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. All tickets include a meet-and-greet with Katy Ryan in the lobby after the show.
