Outdoor Film: Rain Man
Outdoor films are coming to the Village! The Sedona International Film Festival is partnering with Village of Oak Creek Association to present its “Movies on the Move” outdoor film experience on Mondays throughout the summer.
Join us on Monday, July 20 when we present “Rain Man” outdoors at the Village of Oak Creek Association Park, next to the clubhouse.
“Rain Man” (1988) was the winner of four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director (Barry Levinson), Best Actor (Dustin Hoffman) and Best Screenplay. It was nominated for four other Oscars as well.
When car dealer Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise) learns that his estranged father has died, he returns home to Cincinnati, where he discovers that he has an autistic older brother named Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) and that his father’s $3 million fortune is being left to his brother and the mental institution in which Raymond lives. Motivated by his father’s money, Charlie checks Raymond out of the facility in order to return with him to Los Angeles. The brothers’ cross-country trip ends up changing both their lives.
Bring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from the festival’s “Movies on the Move” mobile concession stand.
“Rain Man” will be shown outdoors at the VOC Association Park (690 Bell Rock Boulevard in the Village of Oak Creek) on Monday, July 20 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7:00 p.m. Parking is free and available onsite.
Tickets are only $10 each, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.
