Brad Colerick:
An Evening of Music and Film

Brad Colerick in concert at Mary D. Fisher Theatre
along with Deep Magic short film presentation

Two award-winning filmmakers — whose “Lost Bird” short film was shown at this year’s Sedona International Film Festival — will be back in Sedona for an evening of music and film on Sunday, June 23 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

Singer/songwriter Brad Colerick, who Billboard Magazine called “One of a baker’s dozen of acts to watch in the folk community around the world,” and Scott Feldmann, who began his career as a Disney animator, formed a company together called Deep Magic Song & Drawing Company. They have created a series of shorts together that have garnered numerous accolades at film festivals around the country, including Best Mixed Media Short Film for “Lost Bird” in Sedona.

“Lost Bird” and two other Deep Magic productions — “Manzanar (Yuki)” and “Hummingbird” —will screen in conjunction with the concert.

Colerick’s songs seep into your heart with a single listen. His finely wrought, plainspoken lyrics find the poetry in everyday language. He’ll be presenting songs from his latest compilation album — material frequently requested at his concerts, plus personally meaningful tracks from his previous six albums and four new recordings including the song from the film. Themes of hope and community stitch together the collection — uplifting reminders of what has drawn listeners to the prolific Nebraska native’s music and shows since he released his album Cottonwood in 2006.

The Associated Press said, “Colerick’s stories are worth hearing… His warm, sunny, homey tenor brings alive the characters in these 11 songs.” And No Depression Magazine called his Tucson album “easily one of the best independent Americana albums of 2014.”

“Brad Colerick: An Evening of Music and Film” is live at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Sunday, June 23 at 4 p.m. The short films will play as part of his concert experience. Tickets for the show are $25.

All tickets include a meet-and-greet with Brad and Scott after the show.
