Back to Black

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Sedona premiere of “Back to Black” showing June 7-13 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

A celebration of the most iconic — and much missed — homegrown star of the 21st century, “Back to Black” tells the extraordinary tale of Amy Winehouse. The film captures her rise to fame from her early days in Camden through the making of her groundbreaking album — “Back to Black” — that catapulted Winehouse to global fame.

Told through Amy’s eyes and inspired by her deeply personal lyrics, the film explores and embraces the many layers of the iconic artist and the tumultuous love story at the center of one of the most legendary albums of all time.

“Back to Black” honors Amy’s artistry, wit, and honesty, as well as trying to understand her demons. The film — starring Marisa Abela — is an unflinching look at the modern celebrity machine and a powerful tribute to a once-in-a-generation talent.

“Marisa Abela nails Amy Winehouse in every look, mood and note.” — Variety
