Paula González-Nasser's celebrated directorial debut “The Scout” crafts a contemplative exploration of urban disconnection, following one woman's journey through other people's worlds as she struggles to find her own.
The latest film from director Kasia Adamik — “Winter of the Crow” — is a thrilling cat-and-mouse game set at the onset of Poland’s Martial Law era in 1981, starring Academy Award nominee Lesley Manville who plays an ordinary woman caught in an extraordinary situation.
Directed and produced by Angelina Jolie, with a screenplay by Jolie and Alessandro Baricco, “Without Blood” is based on Baricco’s internationally acclaimed eponymous novel. Starring Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir with Juan Minujín.
In “Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie”, Alex Gibney crafts a poetic dreamscape that reflects how Rushdie views his writing as his own “knife,” a tool to fight back, reclaim his story, and respond to violence with imagination and art.
